What we do

... realising potential

Whether your loved one’s addiction is alcohol/substance related or behavioural – gambling, gaming, or eating disorders, we can tailor the Respire Programme to your specific situation and needs. In doing this we respond to whichever issues are most pressing to you, equipping you with the skills and understanding you require.

Family Workshop & Seminar

Our family workshops and seminars are an opportunity for you to really understand what addiction actually is. Equipping you with useful tools which can be embedded through self-directed learning exercises.

At the end of the workshop, you will have gained:

- Greater understanding of addiction

- Improved ways to communicate difficult conversations

- Knowledge of how to set boundaries, expressing needs and setting limits

- Ways to refocus and reengage in your own life

- An understanding of how to take better care of yourself

- Methods for structured and achievable care planning

- Where to find family support communities and understanding the significance of identifying with others

- What to expect when your loved one leaves treatment, and how to support that transition

The presentations include a Family Handbook and reflective activities, to encourage you to recap and review your learning, creating a record for you to refer to whenever you need it.

Personal Psychotherapeutic Sessions

As therapists, with a long history of experience within addiction and family work, we offer a confidential and safe environment where you can explore the difficulties you are experiencing.

Our therapeutic sessions can be short or long term, where we can address behavioural patterns, and life situations. We explore how underlying issues from the past may be affecting emotions, behaviours, and relationships.

This can be the key process to moving forward with your life with informed wisdom, greater resilience, and with gentle compassion. All sessions are followed up with supportive check-ins.

Family Therapy

Our Family Therapy service is a tried and practiced process, proven to bring positive outcomes. It is an opportunity for family members to express what it felt like to witness their loved one in addiction.

We hold a safe space and guide each participant through this rewarding experience.

This process is for families where the loved one is beginning their recovery journey. Family Therapy is an important experience, allowing everyone to move on from the past.

Family Interventions

We facilitate interventions to help families and those who care for and care about someone in addiction, to ignite a spark of hope or intention in that person, so that they are able to take the next step of engaging in treatment and accepting help.

No matter how much you want to bring about change, addiction recovery cannot begin without some willingness on the part of the person in addiction.

We will help them and you, to say what has not been said, or what has been said a hundred times, but in a way that it can be heard and felt and can initiate a journey to recovery.
